Hamm Takes Third Straight OCAGA Tour Victory

Bohan Advertising purportedly asked if Hamm’s Beer Club was possibly buying off the OCAGA Handicapper.  They do not believe it is too much to ask for proof of who paid for John’s trip to Ireland. Pressure apparently came from the Stocker Foundation, best known for funding non-profits, however recently suspected to be behind the corrective action that finally raised Phil Stocker’s Handicap.

BohanPutforHammGlen Hamm took Buena Vista with just one more stroke than Marc and a handicap cushion.  Bohan is pictured on the right making the putt that gave him low gross preventing Hamm from making it four straight.   The pair made the course look easy easily distancing themselves from the field. Lazarchick had a dismal outing, as bad as he was good last month at the Pheasant.

Scotty Shaw, with a mediocre 93 on the Scorecard, took over fourth place in the race to the final four. Andy Swanson also jumped ahead of the Doctor and Art Czachrowski is now clearly in the race, just a handful of  points behind the trio. Needless to say, the Polish American Tavern was abuzz with speculation! The young Studs want Scotty, but virtually everyone else wants Art to play for the title one more time.  With another title, Hamm will tie Czachorowski’s record of FIVE!

VEGAS ODDS:      Hamm, Bohan and St George will be in the Championship. The fourth position is too close to call.

Rob Juliano demonstrated Tai Chi as a prep before Golf to place himself in a state of JulianoDance“Blissful Relaxation.”  Juliano has suffered from the tendency to whine about his handicap, ever since posting an 81 at Greentree in 2014.  An unnamed tour player stated that whining about handicaps was perfected to an art by Phil Stocker.

President Scotty Shaw, always acting to benefit the Tour Players, called for a vote to follow up on a proposal he gave to the press in an interview back at Avalon. Then he wanted to make a rule allowing OB to move to the front tees. After numerous discussions with Player Focus Groups, Shaw was able to go to vote and a change was passed. Beginning at Greate Bay, players with a handicap above 20 who are at least 65 years old, and any player with a handicap of 30 or more, will have the option to play from the Forward Tees. The USGA Rule to cover a tournament with Players at Different Tees will be used. Handicaps will be determined by using a players index at the tee of choice. Those choosing a forward tee will then have an additional stroke deducted from their handicap for each number difference in the Slopes between the two tees.  At Great Bay 6 Players will have the option to move forward:  Mike O’Brien, St George, Tom Hunt, Phil Stocker, Glen Chabotar and John Buechner.

Bohan Advertising issued a Protest because Don St George is playing well this year. Marc has to work while Don can practice his short game every day in his back yard, and Don does! Everyone at Hamm’s Beer Club was drunk, experiencing delirium with Glenn’s 2015 dominance.  The Stocker Foundation wanted to give Shaw an award as the best ever OCAGA President, but there is a filibuster by a small inside group who say, “Wait a minute, Phil is a past president!” Meanwhile at the Italian Bistro, Bruno asked the Godfather what Charlie might be thinking. The Godfather told him that Charlie does not care. “Charlie would tell you, if your handicap is lower, you just have to play better.”At the Polish American Tavern the big debate was about Art Czachorowski who despite his age is not eligible because his handicap is below the cut off point at exactly 20! The old guard was not daunted however. They were clear, when Art gets in he is going to win because what tees are played is not nearly as important as Chipping and Putting!

SCATS

Marc Bohan cleaned up in the Scratch Category.  O’Brien and Stocker took the Lion’s Share in Handicapped.

Next  Greate Bay on September 13th.
